Profile Of Deacon Ugbala Kenneth Igwe Ph.D

Deacon Kenneth Igwe Ugbala Ph.D. hails from Ukwuagba Okoffia in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Born on 6th June 1979, Dr. Ugbala attended Community Primary School Okoffia in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State from 1987 to 1992 where he bagged Credit in his First School Leaving Certificate.
He proceeded to Community Secondary School Izzikworo in 1993 and passed his Senior School Certificate Examination in flying colours in 1998.

As a result of his avowed determination to acquire higher education, he gained admission into Ebonyi State University in 2000 to study Public Administration and graduated in 2004 with Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration. In 2008, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala was awarded Masters Degree in Public Administration by the same Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki. He immediately enrolled for Ph.D Programme in the same Ebonyi State University in 2009 and bagged his Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Public Administration in 2015.
The saying that some people were born great and others achieved greatness through hard work is exemplified in the life of Dr. Kenneth Ugbala.
In 2005/2006 he was employed as lecturer in Public Administration Department of Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo, Benue State and as a casual staff in Examination Monitoring Committee, Work and Study Program of Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
Between 2010 and 2017, he was appointed as both Venue Manager and Lecturer with Imo State Polytechnic, Abakaliki Study Centre and Imo State University, Ekwuluobia Study Centre respectively.

He was Finance Officer, Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organization during 2015 general election. Dr. Ugbala was appointed Lecturer with department of Public Administration, Ebonyi State University in 2016. It was also in 2016 that Ebonyi State Governor, His Excellency Engr. David Nweze Umahi appointed him as Senior Special Assistant on Internal Security. In the position he discharged himself creditably to the admiration of the Governor and the entire Ebonyians, hence his elevation as pioneer Commissioner for Boarder Peace and Internal Security.

In what many describe as reward for hard work and dedication, Dr. Ugbala Kenneth was on Wednesday, 19th June 2019 sworn in as Secretary to Ebonyi State Government. He was also assigned to supervise the Ministry of Boarder Peace and Internal Security in view of his satisfactory achievements in the Ministry and was subsequently sworn in as a Coordinating Commissioner of all the Ministries.

The SSG is married and blessed with children. He has received many awards including Ebonyi Impact Makers Award in Security Management and Societal Development by the Peoples Guide Newspaper. He is a committed Christian and an Ordained Deacon in Christ Embassy Church in Abakaliki.
